Fall Sports Update #1

SCARSDALE HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS

Dear Raider Families:

Our fall season is winding down, and most of our teams are involved in postseason play:

The Girls Tennis Team competed in the Individuals and Doubles Section 1 Tournament two weeks ago. Isabel Lin was second in the Individuals Tournament and will continue on to the NYSPHSAA Championships starting today at the USTA Tennis Center in Flushing, NY.  Chloe Jin and the doubles team of Addie Roth and Sadie Tauber finished in the top 8, securing All-Section status. 
The team also competed in the Section 1 Team Tournament last week, defeating Yorktown and Rye to advance to the finals against Horace Greeley on Friday. They put up a strong effort but ultimately fell to Greeley, finishing as tournament runners-up. Section 1 has an at-large bid to the State Tournament, so the team does move on to play Washingtonville on Saturday, October 31 at 10:00 AM at Harrison High School. If they win, they will advance to the Regional Finals on November 3 at 4:00, also at Harrison High School.

Girls Soccer will visit Mamaroneck today at 3:30 in the quarterfinals of the Section 1 Tournament. 
Semifinals: Wednesday, October 28
Finals: Saturday, October 31, 10:00 at Arlington High School

Boys Soccer are league champions! They will begin the Section 1 Tournament at home tomorrow in the quarterfinals against Ramapo at 5:00. 
Semifinals: Thursday, October 29, 5:00 SHS
Finals: Sunday, November 1, 12:00 at  Mahopac High School

Girls Volleyball will play their first-round match against Mahopac at home in Gyms 1/2 tomorrow at 5:00.
Quarterfinals: Friday, October 30
Semifinals: Tuesday, November 3
Finals: Sunday, November 7, at Westchester County Center 

Football will play its first-round playoff game at home this weekend against North Rockland.  We are awaiting confirmation from Boces on our request for Friday, October 30 at 6:00.

The Section 1 Game Day Cheerleading Tournament is Sunday, November 1 at Port Chester High School.

The Boys Volleyball postseason bracket is not out yet because their regular season is not complete. I will add more details in a future update, but this is the schedule:
1st Round: Monday, November 2
Quarterfinals: Thursday, November 5
Semifinals: Monday, November 9
Finals: Thursday, November 12 at Westchester County Center

The Girls Swimming and Diving team will compete in the Section 1 Championships from November 6-10. Several members of the team have already qualified for the State Championships, which will take place on November 20 and 21 at the Webster Aquatic Center.

The Section 1 Cross Country Varsity Championships will be held on Saturday, November 7 at Bowdoin Park.

Also, a reminder that Gold Card Registration is open for the Winter season. If you already have a family account with Arbiter, then visit the Scarsdale Registration page to register.

Lastly, we will hold our Fall Signing Day on Tuesday, November 10 at 3:30 in the Learning Commons to celebrate any student-athletes who have committed to bring their athletic talents to the college level. If you wish to take part, please complete this information form. Athletes who do not compete on Scarsdale High School teams are welcome to participate. Our official booster club, Maroon and White, sponsors this special event. They are holding their Fall Harvest Fundraiser on Thursday, November 12, from 6:00-9:00 pm at Wolf and Warrior Brewery in White Plains. You do not need to be a member of Maroon and White to attend, and more information and tickets can be found at this link.
