Spring Sports Update #4

SCARSDALE HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS

Hello Raider Families:

We now have a state champion to celebrate! Tennis player, Jack Reis, is the New York State Singles Champion. This marks the first time Scarsdale has had a singles champion in boys tennis since 1998! Additionally, Dylan Pai and Lucas Yao took fourth place in the New York State Doubles Championships. The team continues its remarkable run at the Team State Championships on Friday at the USTA National Tennis Center in Queens. 

The Girls Golf team took third place in the New York State Girls Golf Championships yesterday, with Arwen Dong placing 14th in the state!  Congratulations on a fantastic season!

Sam Gao took 10th place at the New York State Boys Golf Championships, so congratulations to him as well!

Several of our track athletes will travel to Webster Schroeder High School this weekend to compete in the New York State Outdoor Track and Field Championships.  Those who qualified are:
Labrowne Brown - Boys 100m 
Alice Nicassio - Girls 200m
Charlie Rich - Boys 800m
Adriana Pettinelli - Girls 800m and 
Anna Van de Broek - Girls High Jump 
Relays: 
Boys 4x8 (Nate Lynch, Charlie Rich, Brandon Lin, and Yuhan Cruz) - Alternates: Jack Sheridan and Jake Saxon
Girls 4x4 (Rachel Rakower, Alice Nicassio, Leia Patel, and Adriana Pettinelli) - Alternates: Ziying Su and Anna Van de Broek

We wish the tennis team and our track athletes well in their competition on what’s shaping up to be a very hot weekend.
